KODE9 & SPACEAPE
103 Harriet Street / SF
10pm - after / 21+ up

It's back to the future, and this time we bring Hyperdub's main man, KODE9 performing a live set with the engimatic SPACEAPE, who occupies a highly regarded space in the ranks of dubstep MCs. KODE9's hyperdub sound is difficult to define, sometimes with beats, sometimes without, sometimes with a vocalist, sometimes without - the only continuity is the heavy sub bass. Currently, Kode9's sets travel through a selection of sub-bass driven, heavy skank with off-key synths, drawing from the best of UK underground scenes such as dubstep, grime, UK house and garage. Additionally we're stoked to present the futuresonic nu-skool dub-step, breaks and electro 3-piece THE FLYING SKULLS who will be having their record release party for the new album, Inflight, on 1320 Records. This one's gonna be crack, so get involved!

THE VERY BEST (Radioclit & Esau Mwamwaya)
Mighty: 119 Utah Street / SF
10pm - after / 21+ up

The Very Best (Radioclit & Esau Mwamwaya) Live! -Ghettopop Records. These guys put out what Pitchfork called "just about the most listenable and flat-out enjoyable record of the year" (8.6 rating which is incredible). We couldn't agree more.

Born out of the love of hip hop's ethos to consistently push the boundaries forward by extrapolating what was unique about the past and what is radically refreshing about the future, Radioclit's Etienne Tron and Johan Karlberg have teamed up with Malawian songsmith Esau Mwamwaya to form The Very Best, an epic global partnership with the sole aim to re-write western pop rules in a language which is not English. It's the birth of a great partnership! Their recent release, Mixtape, has garnered rave reviews from across the planet, and their upcoming debut album will feature the likes of Vampire Weekend, M.I.A. and Marina Vellow (formerly of Brazilian three-piece Bonde do Role.) This will be an unforgettable performance! Plus Disco Shawn and Oro11 aka Bersa Discos get the party started!

BONOBO (LIVE)
Mighty: 119 Utah Street / SF
9pm - after / 21+ up

A young Simon Green (for it is he who is the monkey king) refused to be dragged down by the lazy journalistic prose that labeled him 'chillout' and 'downtempo'. Far from it. He upped the stakes, and indeed, even stuck his neck out, moving from his original label Tru Thoughts to Ninja Tune, and set about taking things to the next level.

Cos it's all about the levels with Bonobo. Not in a techy, studio kinda way, but in the levels of involvement with his music. On the surface there are the organic, pastoral atmospheres, the catchy melodies, the elements that caught people from his first album. You can engage with a Bonobo tune in that way if you wish, and will be well rewarded for it. But it's the deeper, slightly hidden levels that you should investigate, for they bring the greatest prize. It's these elements that he first explored on 'Dial M For Monkey', as a greater focus on live instruments, the intricacies of rhythm, the darker shades of the soul, and almost a sleight of hand, that meant that you could be in one mood one minute, and the next you would somewhere different. Later on 'Days to Come', his third album proved the kind of quantum leap in quality that very few artists make - a big, brooding, emotional and uplifting record that you can dance to, do the dishes to, or sit and really study. With his fantastic band, (in which he plays bass and with whom he has headlined the Big Chill and the Glade at Glastonbury) the Monkeyman is set to transform these studio pieces into living, breathing music, the stage is set for Simon Green to step up. The days to come look bright indeed, but sad and beautiful and lovely, too. Don't miss them.

FLOSSTRADAMUS
Mighty: 119 Utah Street / SF
10pm - after / 21+ up

Flosstradamus, the oft-mentioned Chicago DJ duo comprised of J2K (Josh Young) and Autobot (Curt Cameruci) have been dominating the party scene nationwide with their tag- team DJ sets (4 turntables, 2 mixers). Whereas some DJs merely re-heat other people's music, this Chi-town duo makes it sizzle, crack and pop. Mashing up electro, house, minimal techno, hip-hop classics and dirty R'n'B. National press soon began to take notice of the dynamic duo, with features in URB ("Next 100 for 2006"), MTV (featured in "My Block"), The Fader, and more. Recent accolades of note include appearances at SXSW, Coachella, CMJ, Pitchfork Festival, Pop Montreal, parties for VICE, The Fader, Jane Magazine, DKNY, URB, and Puma. Plus, their releases for De la Soul, Caroline Polacheck,The Yea Yeahs, Fools Gold and more keep on coming. This is the party to get your dance on, these guys simply can't let you down! Check out a new 2009 interview here.
